Washer

So excuse me while I rant... We bought our new washer and dryer at the end of January and they are the coolest ever, minus the fact that our washer likes to take walks by itself. The day they installed it I knew something was off with the washer because it was going nuts doing a little dance in our laundry room. So I called the installation techs back and they told me to try to mess around with the feet on it. It still had issues so I called them back again a few weeks later after giving it time to calm down and realize it was a washer and not in fact human but it didn't work. So they came back out to adjust it. After they did it stopped walking but still bumps all around and it sounds like it is about to fall through the floor. (our laundry room is upstairs) So after a couple more calls they tell me today to just call up good ole LG since that is the maker and I got the privilege of talking to an idiot of a person. He actually asked me if I could just move my washer downstairs to see if that helps. I was thinking I heard him wrong, after I repeated what he said fully thinking he would realize the stupidity in that comment. He just sat there so I said oh sure I'll go grab it and magically create a new laundry room downstairs. Mean? Maybe but common seriously, move my laundry room? What is he smoking? So after that I kind of lost it and just told him to send someone out to fix it and that was all I needed him to help me with. So I have someone coming on Monday to check it out yet again and hopefully perform an exorcism on it this time and make it work right. Doesn't it make you so mad when you pay the money for something and fully expect it to work right only to get the run around instead!?!

Snakes

Emmie has nightmares every so often just like any other kid. Sometimes she gets really bad night terrors that we can't wake her up from and those suck because sometimes it can take almost an hour of her screaming and kicking and going ballistic before we can get her to come to and calm down. Last night we put her to sleep in a different room because we were hoping to be able to finally paint her room. She wasn't liking being in another room and kept telling us that she didn't want to go to sleep. She kept telling us that the snakes would get her. After telling her over and over again that there were no snakes and that she would be fine she still persisted. So finally I told her we would just make sure to include in our prayer that Heavenly Father make sure no snakes would get her and she wouldn't have any bad dreams about them either. Darren and I went to bed last night, without getting her room painted since it was then too late to do it, and we fully expected that she would probably have a nightmare about snakes since she was talking about them before bed. Luckily we weren't waken up during the night so that was nice. Darren was here when she woke up this morning and was talking to Emmie and said, "you slept well last night huh?" and she said "yep Heavenly Father helped me and then I said, thanks so much" We had a good laugh at the cuteness of that. Maybe we'll just have to make specific prayers more often so she can sleep better every night.

What we've been doing

I know I haven't posted in a while but sometimes the daily life doesn't really seem blog worthy but just for the sake of keeping up here is what has been happening since the last post. (or at least what I can remember of it) and just an update on us
We have been trying to go to the gym a couple nights a week
I met up with an old friend that I haven't seen since high school and met her little boy for the first time
I went shopping and had lunch with my sister in law Jen and two of her kids and Emmie and Allie
I read the book The Wednesday Letters. I LOVE to read but don't really feel I have much time for it so I just pounded it out in my free time in 2 days. I just read when I nursed Allie so I had to be sitting anyway. I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone who wants an enjoyable light easy read.
I have been trying a couple new recipes that I normally wouldn’t cook but that were yummy
I have just been trying to keep up with the never ending task of cleaning and laundry. Why when I only have two kids do I have to do the laundry ever other day? That seems like a lot with just two. I can't imagine what people with more kids do. Do moms with 5 kids just never leave the laundry room or what!?!

Emmie has been able to play in the back yard finally since the weather has been really nice so she has enjoyed her sidewalk chalk, her car that she is way too big for but we haven't figured out if we want to buy her a full out bike with training wheels or a trike style bike to replace it yet. She has also been having fun with her mesh basketball hoop that she can toss around back there and we don't have to worry about her breaking it. We also got her a soccer ball and football this week that she is LOVING. (except when dad tackled her too hard and she hit her head, she had to come into the house to tell on him for that one)
Emmie has also become quite the helper in the kitchen and has helped me make every dinner for the last two weeks. She loves to measure and stir and crack eggs while mom isn't looking and then say "oops it was an accident" even though it wasn't.
She has also been such a dream for the last couple weeks. (minus yesterday and today. For some reason she got messed up on sleep. She didn't wake up today until almost 11am) She has been so lovey though. All through the day she tells me "you know I love you mommy right?" And is always helping Allie when she gets sad by saying "it's ok Allie, Emmie's right here don't cry" and will then rub her back, kiss her, and get her something to play with. The other day when I cleaned the bathroom Emmie came up to me the next day and said "mommy I am proud of you for cleaning the bathroom yesterday" and kissed me. She is so sweet

Allison has been crawling or slithering/army crawling for a while now but I guess I haven't blogged about that. She is getting really fast though so Emmie is having to learn to pick up all her stuff that Allie can put in her mouth and choke on before Allie can get to it
Allie's new obsession is cords. Any chance she gets she will speed crawl across the floor in search of an unattended cord to the lamp or computer or she has been known to unplug the cable cord on the TV a few times while Emmie is watching some show
We think she is finally teething. She has been SO clingy and tired but doesn't want to stay asleep for more than 20 minutes during the day. At least she still is sleeping at night (knock on wood) also her gums are red and she has a runny nose poor thing

Darren has been working , boring sounding I know but he is enjoying learning new stuff and being able to hang out with his brother at work. And being able feel like the man of the house and earn his keep.

Upcoming things that will be on our minds and taking up our time are
Having our friends come and visit next weekend and take the kids to an Easter egg hunt
Emmie, Allie and I going to Oregon the beginning of April to meet my new nephew and visit family
Hopefully my friend from Idaho coming and spending Spring Break with us (yep that's you Becky)
Trying to figure out something fun for our 5 year anniversary in August

So there is the too much information but keeping you all in the loop update!
